Involved in the security industry for over 25 years, she has worked for several multinational security corporations leading their LATAM regional offices. Currently she serves as Managing Director for Latin America for AFIMAC Global, a multinational risk management and security firm. She has been involved in high level security consulting projects, for the private and public sectors.
Mrs. Septien has a bachelor degree in Information Systems by the Anahuac University, receiving a Suma Cum Laude award. She has a postgraduate degree in Corporate Security Management.from the ICADE Business School at the University of Comillas, Madrid, Spain. She holds the CPP (Certified Protection Professional) certification from ASIS International. She has received intensive training in Corporate Security, Crisis Management, Business Continuity, Executive Protection, Information Security, among other security fields of expertise.
She serves in volunteer roles as ASIS Foundation chair for the years 2022 & 2023, and as liaison for LATAM in the Women in Security Community.
In 2016 she was recognized with the Karen Marquez Honors by the Women in Security Council of ASIS International for her achievements in the Security industry. In 2017 and 2022 she has been included in the list of the “100 most influential professionals in Private Security in Mexico”. In 2018, she was nominated and was among the three finalists in the II Private and Public Security Awards in Mexico, and she received an award by the Mexico National Woman’s Chamber in conjunction with the Mexican Senate for her Professional Excellence.
She is a frequent lecturer in national and international forums, including ASIS GSX annual seminar in 2017 and 2021, ASIS Mexico chapters (Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey and Puebla) and at the Global Business Travel Association in Mexico, Peru, Panama and Colombia and Canada as an expert in Travel Risk Management and Crisis Response. She has also been invited as a speaker at the Security Council of the American Chamber in Mexico and Peru, OSAC Peru, and as a panelist in Expo Seguridad Mexico.
Ms. Septien is member of OSAC in Mexico, LARC, and the Security Councils of the American, German, Canadian and Spain Chambers of Commerce in Mexico.
