This is an open community for all ASIS members interested in the collection, analysis, and discrimination of risks to organizations. Risks include those posed by internal threats (e.g., insider risk, and security convergence with cybersecurity) and external threats (e.g., geopolitical instability, crime, civil unrest, and terrorism). Other hazards–such as natural disasters and public-health events–may be considered when relevant, although they are not the community’s primary focus. This reflects that many organizations task risk intelligence professionals with these areas. We define risk as the intersection of threats, vulnerabilities, and impact. Our community aims to provide a professional network for practitioners to meet and to responsibly share intelligence and best practices. This is a Subject Area Community which is led by a volunteer Steering Committee – you’ll see them regularly hosting virtual events, sharing resources, and leading online discussions within ASIS Connects.
