Presented by: James R. Sisco, President and Founder of ENODO Global
This is the first in a group of webinars presented by the Young Professionals Council and the Toronto Chapter titled, "International Risk and Resilience - Volume 2."

Social Risk is the number one source of disruption in our world today and the greatest threat to public and private sector organizations around the globe. It remains, however, largely misunderstood, ill-defined, and unaccounted for in traditional risk analysis – leaving both governments and businesses highly vulnerable to its negative effects. Social Risk has increased exponentially in recent years, in both frequency and magnitude.

Communications technologies and the rise of social media amplify the grievances and voices of ordinary people and give populations more power vis-à-vis governments and businesses than ever before. In today’s increasingly dynamic, complex, and competitive environments, organizations that successfully incorporate Social Risk analysis into their risk portfolios can accurately forecast and prevent disruptions by understanding its origins and addressing its root causes, which delivers a distinct competitive advantage.

This presentation introduces the concept of Social Risk to the ASIS community in order to provide innovative approaches and their real-world application. These approaches bridge the divide between technology, data, and human understanding. They leverage advanced data analytics, social media exploitation and the power of identity to mitigate Social Risk and maximize Social Impact for diverse public and private sector clients across different locations, various industries, and over time. Through this presentation, ASIS professionals will develop an working knowledge of Social Risk and will receive instruction on ways to predict and prevent costly risks and unrest, within the security field sector.
