Cultural Properties Community

This ASIS Cultural Properties Community whitepaper, created by Cultural Properties Community Steering Committee member, Tabitha Wasilio, is entitled “Severe Weather Preparedness for Living Cultural Properties: Before, During, and After the Storm”, provides practical guidance for botanical gardens, zoos, aquariums, arboreta, and other cultural properties facing the unique challenges of severe weather. It emphasizes a cross-functional, scalable approach that integrates security, facilities, living-collection care, guest services, communications, and leadership to prepare for storms, protect people and critical systems during an event, and conduct coordinated post-storm assessments.
