In July, we heard from @Christopher T Noll about the Most Common Causes of Structure Fires. A couple highlights:

• 120,000 structure fires a year in the 1980s, down to 37,000 due to modern fire suppression
• 5% of the time sprinklers don’t work, 63% of the time it’s because they’re turned off = 1,165 fires per year due to turned off sprinkler systems
• Of the 59,000 wildfires in the US in 2021, 40% of the 5,972 structures burned were commercial or industrial​
