Workplace Violence, Active Shooter and Life Safety Systems
It’s About You, Your Management and Your People

Any employer is 18 times more likely to experience workplace violence (WPV) than a fire at work. We deploy fire prevention systems in every facility. Yet the vast majority of employers don’t do anything about WPV. Sure, your management has a WPV policy. They’re against it. But there are no prevention protocols; no team created and deployed to command and control response; no communications using fire systems; no reporting procedures; no response procedures; no real training of employees. There has been a sharp spike in Active Shooter incidents, 70% of which occur in businesses versus campuses. There are standards and law regarding every employer’s responsibility to protect and respond to WPV and how you are supposed to train employees.

Learning Objectives:

  1. What are the facts and myths of WPV?
  2. What are the laws, regulations and standards that control policy, procedures and training regarding your fire code and WPV?
  3. How does the Adopted Fire Code and WPV response fit together?
  4. What is the research on Active Shooters?
  5. What’s the best way to train for WPV and Active Shooters?
  6. How to protect your management’s posterior?
