Food Defense and Agriculture Security Community

• Activism - Aside from company specific activism within the group, there was discussion around the Extinction Rebellion Group particularly in France and Amazon Basin-based activism. As well as threats to the dairy industry in the Oceania region.
• Food Fraud – threats from counterfeit products in South America and the Caribbean specifically, and across the whole community i.e. fertilizer to all food products. Solid labelling, good reporting and insider programs seemed to mitigate some of the activity. One company employed test-purchase techniques to ensure legitimate products were being sold under company labelling.
• Legislative impact to the industry included ICE activity (particularly in California and Texas), the Make America Healthy program, and the National Farm Security Action Plan. Some positive to the industry, some frustrated security activity, some provided leverage to improve security footprint.
• Travel security – growing regions providing the most angst are China, Arabic Region & Israel, and some South & Central American regions. As well as personal security, discussion centered around device security i.e. phone and laptop.
