  • Opportunity to Recruit Security Talent: GMU Graduate Career & Internship Fair (March 3)

Dear ASIS National Capital Chapter Members,

I’m writing to share an opportunity that may be of interest to members who are currently hiring or anticipating near-term hiring in the security, risk, intelligence, cybersecurity, or related fields.

George Mason University has invited ASIS NCC and our member organizations to participate in its Graduate Career and Internship Fair on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 3:00–6:00 PM, at the Mason Square campus in Arlington, VA. There is no cost for employers to participate.

    The fair is hosted by:

    • George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government

    • The Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution

These schools support graduate programs directly aligned with the security profession, including international security, homeland security, criminology, conflict resolution, and related policy and risk disciplines.

Why this may be valuable for NCC members

    • Direct access to graduate students seeking full-time, part-time, and internship roles

    • Opportunity to promote security career pathways and your organization’s mission

    • Ability to engage early-career professionals already oriented toward public- and private-sector security work

    • Strong alignment with ASIS NCC’s student and early-career engagement efforts

Our ASIS NCC Student Liaisons have already registered, and the Chapter will have a table at the fair to speak with students about ASIS membership and careers in security. If multiple ASIS member organizations participate, we will coordinate with GMU to cluster tables, creating a visible “security professionals” presence.

    Employer registration
Interested organizations can register directly via GMU’s employer portal:

To be included in the Employer Information Guide provided to students, registration must be completed by Wednesday, February 25, 2026. Late registrations may be accepted based on space availability.

    If you would like:

    • An introduction to GMU’s Director of Career Development, Duane Bradshaw

    • To coordinate informally with other ASIS member organizations attending

    • To align your participation with ASIS NCC’s presence at the fair

Please feel free to reach out to me directly. We strongly encourage members who are hiring to consider participating and representing both their organizations and the broader security profession.

    Best regards,
    Andrew McCalister
