The Global Terrorism, Political Instability and International Crime Council is established to assist the Society in achieving its goals by becoming the focal point for Society activities within all aspects of the Global Terrorism, Political Instability and
International Crime discipline. Key relationships have been established with the Department of Homeland Security to ensure the needs and requirements of the private sector are considered in the policy development and implementation process of
establishing an integrated homeland security strategy. As well, key relationships have been established and maintained in the law enforcement sectors that focus on national and international criminal activity and with national universities that track and study trends, patterns and emerging threats. The combination of these activities has proven over time to be an invaluable resource to the private sector when
considering business development, conducting security and vulnerability assessments and recruiting personnel.

The Council will assist the Society in achieving its Vision and Mission by:

    • Providing high quality training and educational opportunities,
    • Fulfilling the needs of members and potential members,
    • Providing opportunities for the exchange of ideas,
    • Assisting in the promulgation of guidelines, standards and ethic conduct,
    • Promoting the Society to key audiences,
    • Pursuing and maintaining strategic alliances with relevant organizations,
    • Enhancing the effectiveness of Society volunteer leadership and assisting in the continued strength of the Society
