Utilities Security Council

Serves as a key resource to the utility sector worldwide. Comprised of members from the five sectors it represents (electric, water and wastewater, gas, dams, and nuclear power) the council promotes standards, guidelines, and certifications. Supports the establishment of sector best practices, educational opportunities, and information sharing in security assessments, critical infrastructure protection, and other related matters for utility security managers.


  • Utilities Security Council

    The Utilities Security Council is established to assist the Society in achieving its goals by becoming the focal point for Society activities within all aspects of the Utilities security discipline.

    The Council will assist the Society in achieving its Vision and Mission by:

    • Providing high quality training and educational opportunities,
    • Fulfilling the needs of members and potential members,
    • Providing opportunities for the exchange of ideas,
    • Assisting in the promulgation of guidelines, standards and ethic conduct,
    • Promoting the Society to key audiences,
    • Pursuing and maintaining strategic alliances with relevant organizations,
    • Enhancing the effectiveness of Society volunteer leadership and assisting in the continued strength of the Society
