Internet of Things (IoT), AI Security, and Privacy Risks that Can Result in Physical Security Losses and Law Enforcement Challenges by Rebecca Herold,
Presentation Description:
As technology has evolved, it has expanded to creating not only additional types of cybersecurity and privacy risks but also creating safety risks that must now also be addressed and mitigated by law enforcement agencies, safety services organizations, the physical safety departments within businesses, and even within the general public's own home and other living environments. While these new technologies can provide some significant benefits to the organizations and individuals using them, they must be secured, and those using them must be aware of the risks. Our speaker has been working for several years with two types of these new technologies that are also creating significant risks that are being exploited to result in physical crimes and harms. During this talk, Rebecca will focus on the risks that "smart" IoT devices and artificial intelligence (AI) tools are creating, along with real-life examples. She will also provide some related risk mitigation tips and mentions tools that can be utilized for addressing the risks for which law enforcement and security professionals should be aware.
