Earning an ASIS certification demonstrates your command of core security principles, validates your expertise and establishes you as an authority in security management. The ASIS Foundation offers a broad range of scholarships and grants for those seeking professional certification and higher education—with options for consideration depending on your unique situation. Here are three opportunities for you to consider:

    Certification Scholarships

More than 25 certification scholarships will be awarded. Each scholarship includes an online review course PLUS the certification exam fees for your choice of the CPP, PCI, PSP, or APP certification. In addition, scholarships are available specifically for military veterans and law enforcement professionals.

These starter kits provide all the materials needed to lead a virtual certification study group in your chapter. Each student then purchases their own study manual to participate (or chapters may purchase manuals at a bulk discount). Only chapter leaders can apply.

Public-Private Partnership Grant in Honor of Matthew Simeone

    Deadline: 15 April

Supported by the ASIS International Law Enforcement Liaison Community and with the ASIS Foundation, this grant recognizes public-private partnership excellence. The $4,000 unrestricted grant will be awarded to a full-service law enforcement agency to support an active P3 program. Nominations are accepted from ASIS members/chapters.

As the world navigates increasingly complex security challenges, the role of P3s will undoubtedly become more central in our collective pursuit of a safer, more secure society.

ASIS International, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the National Sheriff's Association have joined forces to raise awareness of P3s and celebrate these partnerships on April 25th with P3 Day. For instance, if you are an ASIS Chapter representative, you may commemorate this day by bringing your area’s enforcement officials to a chapter meeting to talk about P3s and any patterns they are observing in crime, etc. in your area. We want to know about all local P3 successes and are working on a repository for P3 success stories and P3 Day event successes. Thus, please send your local P3 success stories and event successes to tom.conley@theconleygroup.com.

Creating links between law enforcement and private security is essential to creating even safer and more resilient communities worldwide.

An exceptional programme has propelled ASIS Europe – From Risk to Resilience to even greater heights with a sold-out 2024 event taking place in Vienna, Austria on 20-22 March.

Bringing together a diverse, international community, the event focuses on the role security plays in supporting business objectives, examining both physical and cyber security risks, and the vital management roles security leaders play in large multinational organisations.

This coined the comparison between Vienna as the city of great composers and the complex role of today’s security leaders – as conference co-chair Inge Huijbrechts, Global Senior Vice President Sustainability, Security and Corporate Communications, Radisson Hotel Group, commented in the opening plenary, “Just as Mozart or Strauss would bring all their instruments together in harmony, at this event we are bringing together the various parts of the security profession to create “security in symphony” and go from Risk to Resilience.”

Fellow co-chair Gavin Henderson, Vice President/Chief Security Officer, Regional Security, Mastercard, built on those comments and drew attention to the depth and breadth of the support the event received, with a total of 922 registrants from 57 countries participating, “To make a symphony we need lots of players with different skills and expertise to contribute – and we certainly have that here - this will be the best attended ASIS Europe conference so far. We are immensely proud to see the event, and our community going from strength to strength."

With an audience of established and aspiring security leaders, ASIS Europe addresses both “here and now” security and business risks as well as more strategic matters.

Sessions demonstrated how security leaders can move beyond focusing on the urgent to finding solutions for the important, looking beyond short-term crisis response in order to study and address long-term, existential challenges such as extremism along supply chains, globalization, compliance, and climate change.

Opening keynote, General (ret.) Tom Middendorp (former Chief of Defense for The Netherlands) highlighted the intersection of climate change risk and security concerns, and emphasized the need for innovation, collaboration and more dynamic management models.

On Friday 22 March, Ambassador Julianne Smith, U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO explored a wide range of topics from big-picture geopolitics and NATO expansion, to combatting cyber-attacks and disinformation campaigns.

ASIS Europe is well established as Europe’s critical gathering for established and aspiring security leaders from across the region and beyond.

In total, more than fifty educational sessions took place across two days, with five stages in action and a host of different session formats to ensure a vibrant learning experience with many interactive elements.

ASIS’ commitments to the future of the profession and the security talent pipeline were also highlighted with the involvement of their NextGen and Women in Security communities who developed workshops on engaging professionals of different generations and advancing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives.

Networking and partnership development is the other key component of the event. Onsite networking was based around a buzzing exhibition area where 48 exhibitors participated, including headline sponsors Nedap, Genetec and Securitas.

Solutions and services on display ranged from crisis, critical events and business continuity management to geopolitical risk intelligence and executive protection to video surveillance, cloud-based solutions and access control, as well as cybersecurity, drones and background screening.

The next ASIS Europe will take place in Dublin, Ireland on 4-6 March 2025.
