The New ASIS International Executive Protection Community (EPC) formal Steering Committee (SC)
As per the direction of ASIS HQ, all former ASIS Councils were transitioned into Communities allowing for more engagement of all the members worldwide. Each Community will now have a formal Steering Committee (SC) that will help guide the community towards certain objectives outlined by the SC for the benefit of the community. Each SC is made up of leadership, and then subcommittees focusing on various areas.
The Executive Protection Community Steering Committee (EPC SC) is as follows:
Chair, Jerry Heying, CPP, PPS
Vice Chair, Jonathan Wackrow
Secretary, Anthony Dennis
Community Engagement Subcommittee, Caleb Gilbert
Content Development Subcommittee, James Hamilton
Global Resources Subcommittee Chair, Geraldo deLago-Acosta
Connects and Social Media Subcommittee Chair, Michael Julian, PPS
Young Professionals Subcommittee Chair, Kevin Palacios
Annual Seminar Subcommittee Chair, Michael Henderson
Training, Education, Certification Subcommittee Chair, Michael Bruggman, CPP, PPS
Mentorship Subcommittee Chair, Kristin Lenardson, PPS
Law Enforcement Liaison Subcommittee Chair, Kent Moyer, PPS
Research Subcommittee Chair, Adam Koch
Military Liaison Subcommittee Chair, Jerry Jacobs, PPS
Standards and Guidelines Subcommittee Chair, Chuck Tobin
Woman in Security Subcommittee Chair, Chiko Scozzafava
Each of the subcommittees may at their discretion have informal vice chairs and subgroups of informal volunteers according to their needs of their area. They will periodically post information in the quarterly newsletter and in the community, which is open to all ASIS members worldwide. If you are currently a member of ASIS, you have access to all communities through the ASIS portal. If you are not currently an ASIS member, you may want to consider all the benefits of being a member of the world’s largest security organization.
Having been a member for 40 plus years, I can personally tell you that it has benefited my professional development and opportunities in many ways. And working for and obtaining the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification was a major step for my professional career development.
The EPC SC is made up of dedicated professionals with a passion for the EP community and we are here to serve the EP Community at large.
Thank You,
Jerry Heying, CPP, PPS
EPC SC Chair
