    Join ASIS Commercial Real Estate Community’s webinar, Organizational Preparedness for Commercial Real Estate for an Active Shooter Incident.  Run, Hide, Fight is the common mantra and best practice for an individual response to an active shooter incident, however, how do you prepare both your employees and your office and/or facility for an active shooter incident.  The webinar includes lessons learned and recommendations on how you can better prepare your organization as well as your facility for an active shooter incident.  The webinar is intended for security professionals responsible for security and/or preparedness in commercial facilities, in particular commercial office buildings.  The featured presenter for the webinar is Matt Smith, Vice President, Director of Security for JBG SMITH, a Washington DC based commercial real estate firm and developer.

    About the Speaker:

    Matt Smith is the Vice President, Director of Security for JBG SMITH a Washington, DC area based commercial real estate firm and developer.   Matt is a retired Police Captain from Arlington County, VA. where he served 25 years.  Matt is actively involved with several industry associations locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally and has previously held the following leadership positions including Chair of the American Society for Industrial Security’s International Commercial Real Estate Council, Chair of the Apartment and Office Building Association (AOBA) of Metropolitan Washington’s Emergency Preparedness Committee, and Sector Chief for the FBI InfraGard’s Commercial Facilities Sector for the National Capital Region.  Matt is currently the chair of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International’s Emergency Preparedness Committee.  Matt has a BS in Business Administration from Old Dominion University and a MS in Public Administration from Central Michigan University.
