Study tips

No matter how hard you try to make studying fun, most times it simply feels like a tremendous chore or a task that you have to fulfill. No wonder so many students dread the moment when they have to sit down at their desk and begin their learning session. Things get even more complicated when you leave everything to the last minute and panic creeps in because you have too much to study and not enough time to cover all the subjects (also known as the night before the exam).

But even if studying is not the most exciting activity you can think of, there are ways to make the process easier and become a more productive learner. Here’s what you can do about it.

Be well rested

It doesn’t mean you should start your study session with a break, but if you’re practically half asleep while trying to assimilate new information, you’re just wasting your time. We know most students have the habit of pulling all-nighters which is why they can’t get any studying done during the day, so you might want to rethink your sleep schedule from now on. Eight to nine hours of restful sleep will make you feel brand new, get your brain into study mode and ready to process all the new information you’re about to feed it with.

Make a study schedule

Speaking of schedules, getting organized is another important aspect to consider when studying. How many times have you told yourself “I’m going to study a little later”, but that later never came? When you create a clear timetable where you have everything in order, from the subjects you want to cover to breaks and the time you should spend on every task, it’ll be much easier to avoid procrastination

Ask questions

Be curious and always ask questions about the subjects you study. Ask your teachers, your peers or the all-knowing Google. Don’t limit yourself to the information you receive in class. Be curious and try to expand your knowledge as much as possible. The internet is a valuable study resource as it provides limitless possibilities to explore and find out everything you want to know. And if you happen to come across a website that restricts access from your country, datacenter proxies can help you bypass geo-blocks and gain access to the content.

Alternate learning techniques

Reading, listening, watching tutorials are all great study methods. Not everyone has the same learning style and even if you have one preferred learning method, it’s important to switch things up from time to time. Sticking to the same study technique can get boring and you might miss out on things that can spice up the learning process. mixing and matching is the way to go.

Assess your progress

Keep track of your progress so you can get an idea of how far you’ve come. There’s nothing more satisfying than crossing milestones off your list. This will help you find out where your strengths and weaknesses lie and will also keep you motivated in the long run.
