Jeffrey P. Sarnacki
Jeff Sarnacki is a nationally recognized safety and security expert, having served as the Director of Law Enforcement and Response Policy in the White House under both George W. Bush and Barack Obama. He is currently a principal at Skylight Global, a consulting firm specializing in risk preparedness, planning and training.
He has extensive public safety and security, emergency management, and operational experience to include serving as lead planner for explosives prevention and response for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. He has served as the Chief of Staff for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
In recent corporate assignments, Jeff led Emergency Services for the Quicken Loans family of companies and was responsible for the physical security and safety of 30,000 team members and response and emergency plans for over 90 properties. He’s taught emergency and disaster preparedness and response to its leaders, and nearly all employees globally.
Jeff is on the advisory board for the Southern Methodist University Cyber Security Center and is former Senior Fellow at the George Washington University’s Center for Cyber and Homeland Security providing policy expertise in disaster preparedness, infrastructure protection and life safety matters.
Jeff is Board Certified as a Protection Professional with ASIS International and a member of numerous policy and standards committees including the Workplace Violence Prevention and Intervention technical committee. He is a member of the ASIS Fire Life Safety Council and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Cross Functional Committee of Emergency Preparedness and Response, that has released its draft standard NFPA 3000 for Active assailant preparedness and response. He is an expert in active shooter preparedness and response and in active shooter preparedness in high-rise buildings.
He is a two-time recipient of the U.S. Attorney General’s Award for Outstanding Contributions to Community Partnerships for Public Safety, and has been recognized with the United States Attorney’s Award for Leadership.
Jeff holds a master’s degree in Strategic and International Studies from the Marine Corps War College and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Western Michigan University,
