Patrick W. Cooper, PCI - CTM is a Senior Investigator employed by Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company at the Marietta, Georgia facility. A seasoned security professional with more than 25 years of experience, he began his association with Lockheed Martin in 2001 (as a contractor) and was hired by the Company in October 2004.
Mr. Cooper’s duties include the investigation of a wide variety of matters related to employee conduct, counterintelligence and workplace issues ranging from theft and mischarging to harassment, workplace threats/violence to sabotage. He assists in the administration of the Workplace Violence Prevention Program by developing and delivering training presentations to Senior Leadership, Management and Supervision, as well as external audiences.
Mr. Cooper was part of the team that responded to the 2003 Mass Workplace Homicide at the Lockheed Martin facility in Meridian, Mississippi. In 2012 and 2013, he developed a workplace violence prevention educational campaign called “Red Flags” (which focuses on recognizing precursor workplace behaviors associated with mass workplace homicides) and has delivered this training to thousands of employees at various Lockheed Martin facilities. Since November 2013, Patrick has locally served as a Plenary Speaker at the 5th Annual Law Enforcement/Private Sector Business Continuity Summit as well as at meetings of the U.S. Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Force, regionally with speaking engagements at institutions of higher learning such as Clemson University and East Tennessee State University and to national/international audiences at the ASIS International 62nd Annual Seminar & Exhibits in Orlando, Florida.
Mr. Cooper was responsible for planning, coordination and implementation of security arrangements related to LM Aero executive attendance at F-22 Raptor Squadron Arrival/Deployment Ceremonies at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska (2007) and Holloman AFB, New Mexico (2008), as well as the Meeting of the Board of Directors of Lockheed Martin UK Holdings, Ltd. (2009), the C-130J Hercules Operator’s Council (2012 - 2018) and the P-3 International Operators Support Conference (2013 - 2018).
Mr. Cooper holds the Professional Certified Investigator (PCI™) board certification/designation and also serves on the ASIS International Investigations Council. He has received advanced certifications in Interview & Interrogation Techniques from both Wicklander - Zulawski & Associates as well as John E. Reid & Associates. He earned his B.A. degree from Clayton State University, and his paralegal certification from the National Center for Paralegal Training. Mr. Cooper holds the Certified Threat Manager (CTM) designation and serves as President of the Atlanta Southeast Chapter of ATAP - Association of Threat Assessment Professionals and is a member of SHRM - Society for Human Resource Management.
