Ms. Hains is a Security Consultant. She is a CPP and past Chairman of the Supply Chain & Transportation Security Council. Her expertise is Supply Chain, Maritime Security and Customs procedures that include port, airport and cruise ship security. Laura retired from US Customs & Border Protection after 31 years of service. After retiring she became a Maritime trainer working for two companies under the auspices of the Organization of American states to train Customs officer in the Caribbean. Laura then became the Pinkerton Operations Manager in Global Supply Chain Security. She retired in 2017 and currently does security consulting. She has authored articles on Port, Cruise Ship, Container and Radiation Portal Monitor security. She appeared on CNN’s Anderson Cooper to discuss Cruise Ship security and has spoken at numerous industry and trade events. Laura holds an M.A. from George Washington University in Criminal Justice/Security Management. She was an Adjunct Professor at Keiser University in Homeland Security. She is certified by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) as a Maritime Security trainer and holds a Florida Private Investigators License.
