Patrick M. Gibbons, CPP
Vice-President of Media and Security Industry Relations at The Lowers Risk Group (www.lowersriskgroup.com)
From Public to Private Security:
In February 2014, Patrick Gibbons successfully completed 27 years of loyal service with the Federal Bureau of senior investigator, Supervisory Special Agent, Chief - FBI Police Unit (270 sworn members & 5 Key U.S. Facilities) and Legal Attaché in Southeast Asia (Vietnam and Cambodia). He also served a joint duty assignment as the Bureau's Deputy Chief and a senior intelligence manager within the U.S. Intelligence and Federal Law Enforcement community. He began his law enforcement career in late 1982 with the Maryland State Police where he served approximately 4.5 years as a Maryland State Trooper, protecting communities, investigating crimes and enforcing state laws. In 1985, he earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland in Political Science. In 2009, he earned a Master’s degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Island. He is also a graduate and former class counselor of the FBI National Academy (FBINA/167th Session) in Quantico, VA.
In current career, Patrick serves as LRG's senior liaison with media and security associations that interact with armored carriers and security organizations nationwide. During his prior armored career, Patrick served as an executive board member of the National Armored Car Association (aka, NACA – Brinks, Dunbar, Loomis and Garda) Board of Directors and was unanimously elected to serve a two year term (2018 - 2019) as the organization’s president.
In furtherance of security industry responsibilities, Patrick obtained Private Detective Certification in Maryland (2014) and also completed the State of Georgia’s course of training to thoroughly learn about many activities and duties of licensed Armored Driver Guards and Security Agencies (2014). In August 2017, Patrick earned the prestigious ASIS International’s Certified Protection Professional ® (CPP) certification, which communicates to colleagues, employees and fellow security professionals significant senior management experience, as well as demonstrated and tested competence in advanced private security investigations.
From meeting with executive leaders of criminal investigations at the federal, state and local levels to strengthen LRG's many collaborative relationships, to actively working with the security personnel and municipal authorities to identify thieves and recover stolen funds, Patrick finds his career challenging and engaging. He is now part of a growing number of former ranking law enforcement leaders and senior intelligence community officials who bring substantial talent and experiences into the private security sector, as two formerly separate groups within the security sphere converge and collaborate effectively to protect people, brands and client profits.
