Carla is the Director, CSO Center for Leadership & Development at ASIS International. Previously, she was the Director, Public Policy Operations at ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership where she led ASAE's political strategy and fundraising, public policy operations and managed all aspects of the ASAE Fellows program. Over her more than 18 years of experience, Carla has been involved in all aspects of government relations and public policy on the local, state and federal levels. She has held several positions with national real estate focused associations, and was a legislative assistant for New York Congressman Benjamin Gilman (retired). Currently, she serves on the Women in Government Relations (WGR) Board of Directors and was previously the PACs, Politics and Grassroots Task Force Co-Chair. She is a previous recipient of the Association Forum's 40 under 40 Award. She also served as President of the Washington Area State Relations Group (WASRG) in 2007 and is a 2011 honoree as one of DC's Finest Young Professionals by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF). In addition, she is on the Steering Committee for the DC Brewer’s Ball, a charity beer and food event supporting CFF. She also volunteers for Women Giving Back, an organization that provides necessities to needy women and children in the Northern Virginia area. Carla lives in Virginia with her husband Marc and sons Logan and Miles. Besides philanthropy and volunteering, she enjoys running, traveling and following the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. She's also the self-proclaimed scrabble champion of her household.
