The ASIS Phoenix and Utah Chapters are proud to announce the launch of our 16-week CPP® Certification Prep Program beginning September 2025. This program is open to both members and non-members and is designed to provide the structure, tools, and mentorship needed to achieve the industry’s most respected certification in security management: the Certified Protection Professional (CPP®).

Program Goals & Outcomes

  • Support and empower candidates to successfully earn the CPP® designation
  • Provide expert guidance from CPP-certified instructors
  • Encourage peer-to-peer collaboration through ASIS Connects and study groups
  • Strengthen the security community through mentorship and professional development

What’s Included

  • Official CPP Study Manual (for participants registered before program launch)
  • Weekly domain-based guidance from certified instructors
  • Peer engagement via a dedicated ASIS Connects online community
  • Access to a Google Drive with study resources
  • Study session opportunities before/after ASIS Phoenix Chapter meetings
  • Capstone CPP Prep Workshop with:
    • Domain-by-domain review
    • Instructor Q&A
    • Practice exam opportunities

Note: Cost of the CPP exam is not included in program registration.

Structure & Schedule

  • Duration: 16 weeks (self-paced with weekly instructor support)
  • Format: Email guidance, ASIS Connects threads, optional Zoom sessions
  • Workshop: 1-day in-person review event at the conclusion
  • Start Date: September 2025
  • Cost: $250.00
  • Registration Deadline: Register before the start date to receive the included study materials. Late registrations are welcome but will require participants to purchase their own manual and catch up independently.

Kickoff Meeting:

All registered participants are invited to attend a virtual kickoff meeting on Tuesday, September 16th at 3:00 PM (MST). This will be an opportunity to meet your instructors, connect with fellow participants, and learn how to get the most from the program. A meeting link will be provided to all registrants.

  • Weeks 1–2: Domain 1 – Security Principles & Practices
  • Weeks 3–4: Domain 2 – Business Principles & Practices
  • Weeks 5–6: Domain 3 – Investigations
  • Weeks 7–8: Domain 4 – Personnel Security
  • Weeks 9–10: Domain 5 – Physical Security
  • Weeks 11–12: Domain 6 – Information Security
  • Weeks 13–14: Domain 7 – Crisis Management
  • Weeks 15–16: Comprehensive review & Workshop

CPP Eligibility Requirements

To sit for the CPP exam, candidates must meet ASIS requirements:

  • Without a degree: 7 years of security experience (with at least 3 years in responsible charge)

  • With a bachelor’s degree: 6 years of experience (3 in responsible charge)
  • With a master’s degree: 5 years of experience (3 in responsible charge)
